Stephen Tester’s debut novel, “Kiss of Death”, is out March 14th. The official launch for this book is being held by the history teacher’s school, Wellington Boys’ College, as part of their annual Runathon. We have partnered with the school to raise money for the charities they are donating to this year, with a store-wide 25% off, and 25% of the item’s list price donated to the Runathon. You can use the code WCHOORAH24 to take part in this event.
The school’s annual “runathon” coincides with the book’s release in bookshops, and half of the proceeds from sales of the book will contribute to this amazing effort. Last year, Wellington Boys’ College raised over $120,000 for charity.
The WC Performing Arts Academy is teed up and is practising a dramatised version of the corset court case (they’re very excited) and one of the jazz ensembles will also play at the launch – the author has been to two rehearsals and says they’re very cute.
Students will get double runathon house points for every lap “speed reading” the novel. Hopefully, they don’t crash into each other!
One of the prefects has made it his personal runathon challenge to read the entire novel while doing laps and laying down the gauntlet to others to do the same – they register their personal challenge online.
The charities involved this year are numerous. We have listed them below, so you can see where your generous donation will be going.
- Kaibosh Food Rescue
- World Vision
- Downtown Community Mission
- Wellington Rape Crisis
- the Boys and Girls Institute
