Description

A fascinating overview of one New Zealander’s lifetime passion for cars. While not a technical book, it brings to life the enthusiasm of both the collector and the amateur sportsman.

The author’s parents were both medical practitioners and two cars were essential for their work. They began with a Pick purchased in 1910, and from then on the Cowie family mirrored the development of the automobile. When Graham Cowie followed the family tradition and became a doctor, he was able to combine his need for transport with his love of cars, purchasing an M G Coupe in the 1930s.

This book describes not only his own and his family’s cars, but those of the many friends and acquaintances made all over the world, from Le Mans to the Highlands of Scotland.

Published in 1991.
