Description
A History of Two Gardens
With a Foreword by Kerry Carman
Deep in the heart of the Wairarapa two houses stand side by side on adjoining properties, both facing east to the rising sun. Built respectively by Newman pioneers John Cooper and Samuel Dawson in the nineteenth century one, the Cooper abode, had the good fortune to be restored before it was too late. For “Clifton Grove” the Dawson residence, the ravages of time and neglect have taken their toll, and now a mere shell remains.
