The launch for Ian Connor’s first book, Grace Hirst: A Settler’s Life happened last week at Poppies New Plymouth. It was a great night all around!

We were thrilled to host the launch of Grace Hirst – A Settler’s Life in New Plymouth by Ian Connor on Saturday at Poppies. It was a full house, with Ian’s family, friends, and supporters filling the space to celebrate this special debut.

Ian has beautifully fulfilled his mother’s wish to share the remarkable story of their ancestor, Grace Hirst. This well-researched and skillfully written book brings an important piece of New Zealand’s settler history to life.
